“For every minute you are angry you lose sixty seconds of happiness.”
― Ralph Waldo Emerson

The author is trying to say that it's important to not let small things ruin a person's happiness. It's okay to not be happy all the time, but we just have to choose our battles. We need to step back and think, "Is this really worth making me this upset?" I think it's something we all have to think about as we go through life.

“Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.”
― Mahatma Gandhi

Gandhi is saying a person's happiness is determined on how their thoughts, actions, and what they say. These three things all needed to be in a positive place. Their thoughts should be positive, and make them feel motivated and confident. What they say to people should be kind and encouraging. All their actions and the way they treat people should make them and the other person feel good on the inside.
